The latest buzz in Bollywood is that film producer Pahlaj Nihalani has been asked to step into Leela Samson's shoes as the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) Chairperson.
SpotboyE.com has it that senior actor Suresh Oberoi was nursing a strong desire to hold the coveted post. There are whispers that his son Vivek tried his best to lobby for his father but did not succeed.
Samson quit the post last week when the Tribunal cleared the controversial film Messenger of God after the Examining Committeee and Revising Committee had rejected it.
The new members who have joined the board are Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Ashoke Pandit, Mihir Bhutia, Prof Syed Abdul Bari, Ramesh Patange, George Baker, Jeevitha, SV Shekhar and Vani Tripathi Tikoo.
The new CBFC team will have a tenure for 3 years.
